Akron and Chicago Junction Railroad : ウィキペディア英語版 | Akron and Chicago Junction Railroad
The Akron & Chicago Junction Railroad was founded in 1825 by General Simon Perkins and Paul Williams. The word "Akron" was derived from a Greek word meaning high. Canals were instrumental in the founding of Akron, Ohio. Before the canals were completed, some people argued that the town needed a railroad. The railroad opened on August 1, 1891.
